Striker Australia designed a self-levelling towable radial heap leach stacker with follower feed conveyor. JMD Engineering were engaged by Striker to complete the engineering verification for both conveyors, this included the design of the self-propelled radial bogies and structural verification for the radial stacker and follower conveyor
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS
Both conveyors structures where modelled in structural FEA software. The radial self-propelled bogies and the towing bogies (including vertical lifting capability) have been designed for a 8° slope. These mechanical components have been checked for several load cases using detailed FEA models. The 440 T/hr design requirement has been verified by modelling the stacker in conveyor modelling software. During this project JMD Engineering closely communicated with the client to ensure all required modification had minimum impact on the fabrication schedule. Both conveyors operate as per nameplates and without any issues to date.
