PROJECT SUMMARY
Project Location: Worsley Alumina Refinery
As part of scheduled inspection regime, JMD were engaged by South32 to conduct steel and concrete structural inspections of twelve (12) Overland Conveyor bridges. The project scope included the provision of an inspection report detailing the conditions and recommended remediation for each bridge structure.
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS
JMD completed a detailed inspection for each conveyor bridge which are typically large span (up to 200m in length) consisting of steel construction with concrete pier support and foundations. The inspections were completed by our experienced engineering personnel following review of existing design drawings to identify and assess critical areas. We provided the inspection report in tabulated form with clear priority ranking, photographic indication and description of required remediation for ease of client use. Several areas were identified as being of more significant deterioration which were highlighted to the client for immediate action.
