JMD Engineering were engaged by Gold Fields Darlot to conduct an inspection of the compressed air system operating at their underground gold mine. JMD was to determine the root cause of the pressure drop experienced below RL745 when operating selected equipment and to provide recommendations to address the issue.
JMD Engineering carried out investigation of the compressed air system and were provided with equipment air demand information. From this information a fluid flow model was created to evaluate the system.
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS
From the evaluation JMD Engineering presented an engineering report which detailed model results, key system bottlenecks, and options of varying economic feasibility – each outlining a solution to the problem.
